Home Medical Equipment Rentals in the US Industry Market Research Report Now Available from IBISWorld

Home Medical Equipment Rentals in the US Industry Market Research Report Now Available from IBISWorld

IBISWorld Market Research

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 18, 2012

The Home Medical Equipment Rentals industry has adapted to a shifting landscape during the past five years. Changes in Medicare regulation resulted in higher costs and limited revenue for operators. Meanwhile, high unemployment during the Great Recession and a slow recovery resulted in fewer insured people and limited disposable income, which dented demand for home medical equipment rentals because some people could no longer afford them. As a result, IBISWorld estimates that revenue will decline at an annualized rate of 1.5% to $ 5.9 billion in the five years to 2012. According to industry analyst Agata Kaczanowska, “this rate includes a 0.4% revenue rebound from 2011 to 2012, as unemployment recovers, which is expected to lead to a slow rebound in disposable income and the number of people with private health insurance.”

In response to limited demand, the Home Medical Equipment Rentals industry consolidated during the past five years. For example, major company Lincare acquired 15 local and regional companies in 2011 alone. On a smaller scale, industry operator Rotech acquired two companies in 2011. Consequently, the number of companies in the industry is estimated to decline at a 1.8% annualized rate to 728 firms in the five years to 2012. According to Kaczanowska, “this rate of decline is forecast to continue during the next five years to 664 enterprises in 2017, as companies like Lincare and Rotech continue aggressive acquisitions.” An increase in online rental transactions is also stimulating consolidation because the internet’s broad audience reach encourages and enables companies to service an expanding area.

During the next five years, a rebound in unemployment is expected to lead to an increase in the number of people with private health insurance and will also boost disposable income, enabling more people to use industry services. Also, higher federal spending on disability benefits, Medicare and Medicaid is forecast to benefit the industry. Furthermore, as baby boomers retire, the number of people aged over 65 will grow at a faster pace, contributing to a wider market for industry services and boosting performance. IBISWorld estimates that industry revenue will grow in the five years to 2017.

Pioneer in Radiology Industry, Dr. Dennis M. Mackman, Retires from North Broward Radiologists

Pioneer in Radiology Industry, Dr. Dennis M. Mackman, Retires from North Broward Radiologists

Dr. Dennis Mackman

Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) May 17, 2012

After thirty two years of service to our practice and South Florida’s medical community, our esteemed colleague, Dr. Dennis Mackman is retiring. His presence will be greatly missed and his contributions remain integral to the fabric of our organization. Since joining North Broward Radiologists in December of 1980, Dr. Mackman has witnessed and participated in many significant changes occurring in medical imaging over the years. In recalling his early years in radiology, Dr. Mackman says that ultrasound was rudimentary, CT was young technology – used mainly for brain (not much for body) and MRI was still in the research stage

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin with a medical degree in 1974, Dr. Mackman did his rotating internship at San Joaquin General Hospital from 1974-75. He began an anesthesia residency at the University of Florida from 1975-76 before deciding to make a change in career path. Dr. Mackman completed his Nuclear Medicine residency at the University of California – San Francisco (where he also served as Chief Resident). Dr. Mackman recalls attending a UCSF lecture where he saw the first MRI the school captured – the image was of the butt of a mouse that was crawling out of the magnet as it scanned.

Dr. Mackman received his certification by the American Board of Radiology for Diagnostic Radiology and received his Nuclear Radiology certification in 1980. The following achievements are merely an abbreviated list of his professional accomplishments:

Initiated use of Positron Emission Tomography – Computed Tomography (PET-CT) and Cardiac Computed Tomography Angiogram (CTA) into the practice
Expanded imaging at Broward General Medical Center (BGMC) to outpatient setting
Served as Director of Radiology for Broward Health for over 20 years
Guided start up of imaging at Broward Health Weston, assisting with transition to PACS system and implementing 24 hour Radiology coverage for the Trauma Center
Contributed to Radiation Safety, Credentials & Qualifications and Medical Care Evaluation Committees
Developed one of the first steering committees to coordinate image services system-wide
Embraced teleradiology technology and helped to launch SteleRAD

Dr. Mackman is as proud of his personal achievements as his professional success. This year, he will celebrate 43 years of marriage to his wife, Sandy, who was an X-ray technician and is credited with motivating him to pursue a career in radiology. Dr. Mackman and Sandy are parents of two sons. Their eldest son Ryan is a recruiting manager in Chicago and Chad is a Senior Medical Resident at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH.

In retirement, Dr. Mackman plans to spend time visiting his children, fishing, taking in the theater in New York City and traveling. He’s also excited about having more time to study computers, which has been a personal passion of his for years.

From the entire staff at North Broward Radiologists, “We offer our deep gratitude and sincere wishes for many happy and healthy years of retirement.”

About SteleRAD

SteleRAD is a provider of high quality teleradiology services − owned and operated by Board Certified Radiologists. The practice is comprised of radiologists from North Broward Radiologists, a group of physicians serving the medical community since 1969. SteleRAD’s cost effective and highly efficient teleradiology services enable imaging centers, hospitals and physician groups to outsource their radiology needs to highly trained experts. Superhero Publishing Releases Brand New Article All For Guys Who Want To Learn About Building Muscle

Superhero Publishing Releases Brand New Article All For Guys Who Want To Learn About Building Muscle

Thornwood, NY (PRWEB) May 12, 2012

The owner of Superhero Publishing LLC, Jared DiCarmine is a personal fitness trainer located outside of New York City. He has trained clients ranging from all ages, genres, goals, and personalities. However, his big passion within the fitness industry is helping guys with building muscle and losing fat.

He has created a website that goes over numerous specific details about how to build muscle for the average, less than genetically blessed person.

For example, he has just released a brand new article titled “The New School Principles For Building Muscle And Getting One Over On Your Lousy Genetics,” that goes over numerous and specific ways for someone to finally starting add muscle to their frame without having resort to any type of dangerous performance enhancing drugs or buying worthless bottles of supplements. One of the biggest take-aways from the article is when he states “The truth is you need to find that sweet spot that allows you to get in and get out of the gym. That’s why I recommend you limit your workouts to just 45 minutes maximum per session. Now you can workout 2-3x per day if you want. Of course your training and recovery program needs to be top-notch, like the one I teach. Plus, there’s another big benefit to hitting the gym, giving it all you got in 45 minutes, and then getting the hell out. Mainly because marathon-bodybuilding workouts increase the amount of cortisol released from your adrenal glands. I touched on this briefly in the special report, but cortisol is a catabolic hormone which kills your muscle growth.”

The statement above goes against conventional wisdom as it relates to building muscle because of the false and misleading information that gets passed around in the traditional bodybuilding magazines. Sadly, as Jared states “a lot of that information is being spewed from the mouth by professional bodybuilders with elite, god-like genetics and who take boatloads of steroids and illegal performance enhancing drugs.”

All in all, if one wants to learn more about building muscle, he or she just has to click on one of the links in this release to read the article.

Expanding Therapeutic Applications to Drive the US Intranasal Drug Delivery Market, According to New Report by Global Industry Analysts, Inc.

Expanding Therapeutic Applications to Drive the US Intranasal Drug Delivery Market, According to New Report by Global Industry Analysts, Inc.

San Jose, California (PRWEB) May 09, 2012

Follow us on LinkedIn – An organ long overlooked, and neglected, the human nose has now stormed into the pharmacological spotlight as the most important drug delivery pathway, viable for treating a host of medical conditions, ranging from flu to erectile dysfunction. Subsequently, intranasal drug delivery has evolved as an important form of drug delivery in the recent years, and is all set to create significant milestones in the pharmaceutical industry, driven largely by its ability to cure local infections and chronic allergies. The popularity and universal acceptance of intranasal drug delivery by doctors and researchers alike is largely due to the proffered potential of the technique’s efficiency in delivering systemic drugs. In addition to treating common ailments, such as nasal congestion, application of intranasal drug administration is expanding to include treatment of allergies, osteoporosis, pain management, vitamin B12 deficiency, smoking cessation, migraines, and nocturnal enuresis. Technology developments in the area of designing dry powder inhalation devices, for instance, are stepping up interest in intranasal drug delivery. Incremental developments effected in the area of powder particle formulation and engineering, and device architecture is helping powder inhalers to fiercely compete with other delivery techniques, which escort active drug agents via the lungs.

Although innovation in the area of nasal delivery devices has been relatively slow, manufacturers are nevertheless waking up to the dire need for sophisticated devices designed specially to meet the unique challenges of systemic delivery. Preservative-free systems, which either filter air that escape into the bottle or prevent air from entering the device, represent an important step forward in device innovation. Presently, a wide gamut of nasal drug delivery equipment and devices are being commercialized in the marketplace, with the most commonplace device types being nasal sprays pumps with metered drug dispensing systems, pipettes, droppers, and squeeze bottles.

Traditional nasal drug delivery devices, such as pipettes and sprays, have been the mainstay of intranasal drug delivery for a long time. However, the devices are not without limitations such as inefficient deposition of therapeutic drug molecules, for instance, nasal inhalers, and sprays result in unwanted deposition of drugs in the lungs. Other limiting factors include – safety, and dose repeatability. Bi-directional nasal drug delivery is perhaps the most important drug delivery technology innovation that promises to offer a pragmatic solution to the drawbacks and pitfalls of the use of nasal sprays. Bi-directional drug delivery is clinically proven to offer efficient and safe nasal administration in multiple modes. Compared to standard nasal sprays that are presently in use, bi-directional nasal device offers two major advantages, namely restricting the entry of smaller particles into the lungs, and enabling easy airflow inside the nose.

Allergic Infections represents the largest therapeutic area of the intranasal drug delivery, as stated by the new market research report on Intranasal Drug Delivery. However, growth in the market would be fuelled by applications in analgesics therapeutic area. Pain management represents an important therapeutic area, wherein intranasal drug delivery has been met with reasonable success. The intranasal route is demonstrated to be as efficient as the intravenous route in delivering pain relieving drugs. Empirical studies reveal adequate pain relief when drugs are administered intranasally. Several intranasal pain management drugs have been developed for treating postoperative pain, chronic and acute pains (arthritis), and migraines. In addition, most of the growth is expected to be derived from new therapeutic applications, such as vaccines. The use of intranasal drug delivery in Vaccinations is projected to witness a compounded annual growth rate of 11.8% during the analysis period.

Major players profiled in the report include Aegis Therapeutics LLC, Alza Corporation, AptarGroup Inc., Archimedes Pharma Limited, AstraZeneca Plc., MedImmune Inc., Bayer Consumer Care, Bespak Plc., GlaxoSmithKline Plc, Ikano Therapeutics Inc., Marina Biotech Inc., Merck & Co., Novartis AG, OptiNose AS, Pfizer Inc., Sanofi, Rexam Plc., Unigene Laboratories, among others.

The research report titled “Intranasal Drug Delivery: A US Market Report” announced by Global Industry Analysts Inc., provides a comprehensive review of the intranasal drug delivery market in the US, current market trends, key growth drivers, recent product introductions, recent industry activity, and profiles of major/niche market participants. The report provides annual sales estimates and projections for the US intranasal drug delivery products (prescription drugs) for the years 2009 through 2017 by the following therapeutic areas – Allergic Infections, Analgesics, Osteoporosis, and Vaccinations. Also, a six-year (2003-2008) historic analysis is provided for additional perspective.

While many diet pills and herbal supplements are quickly disproven as fads of little benefit, African Mango (also known as bush mango) appears to stand up to its claims in the face of rigorous scientific testing. A 10-week trial of 102 overweight participants showed that those who received African Mango before meals lost both weight and body fat, and also improved their waist circumference measurements. The participants’ blood was tested as part of the trial, and a number of indicators of heightened metabolic rate were also present (plasma total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, blood glucose, C-reactive protein, adiponectin and leptin levels).

This miracle supplement has been a relatively new discovery due to its rarity – African Mango pills are made from a fruit, known as irvingia gabonensis, which grows only in a small area in the rainforests of Cameroon. Contrary to common belief, the flesh of the fruit is not the active ingredient in the supplements – rather, these are made up of a substance found within the seeds. In spite of the huge amount of media buzz African Mango has been receiving in the past few months, the fruit has been hailed by the locals for several centuries as a health food and appetite suppressant.

African Mango works by delaying the emptying of the stomach, which delays digestive processes and means a feeling of fullness is retained longer. It is also a bulk-forming laxative due to its high fibre content, and promotes the removal of cholesterol from the body. While the weight-loss enhancing properties of African Mango are well known, numerous other health benefits have also been linked to its use. These include heightened energy levels and improved gastro-intestinal function, as well as lowered diabetes risk factors. Additionally, African Mango assists in maintaining glycaemic balance in individuals with diabetes.

Research trials show that African Mango will promote weight loss even when not combined with exercise, but the effects are considerably more pronounced when the supplements are used in conjunction with an active lifestyle.

African Mango is available through HealthPost under the brand name ‘Natural Health Trading Super African Mango 1200’, with two capsules providing 1200mg of African Mango. HealthPost also recommend taking a secondary supplement, Nutra-Life Thermo Trim Max, alongside African Mango to achieve the best possible results.

Emergency Response Preparedness from Absolute Rights Training Course

“40 Days and 40 Nights” AbsoluteRights.com

Austin, TX (PRWEB) May 12, 2012

Emergency response preparedness levels are less than desirable in our country, and a recent AbsluteRights.com article said there’s a growing need for personal responsibility on the part of each and every American. First responders can’t be entirely relied on to arrive and provide assistance as quickly as needed. That gives preparations for self-sufficiency the top priority spot, the article said. Now the only issue is finding a guide to emergency preparedness that gives the necessary advice and the most accurate information.

Thankfully, Absolute Rights is currently offering the ultimate survival training course, “40 Days and 40 Nights.” It contains facts and figures that will help preparation efforts, and includes six full training modules for complete readiness, said the article.

“40 Days and 40 Nights” highlights the most important parts of disaster preparedness and provides beneficial strategies for acquiring and arranging food, water, and survival supplies. It covers skills and tactics for accessing power and communication abilities, as well as medical and psychological procedures that will keep people healthy and alive for as long as recovery may take, the article said.

Many towns in the U.S. are addressing the concern for safety from disasters on the community level with specific drills and practice routines that mimic real resulting hazards. First responders, hospitals, and emergency healthcare personnel collaborate efforts to keep their skills sharp and their plans effective, said the article.

While community efforts are encouraging, the best way to become fully prepared for any disaster is to devote time and effort towards individual readiness, and then expand it to include family members and loved ones. The article said the only reliable relief will come from within one’s own mind, and the preparation steps done prior to an emergency will represent the best chance of survival.

Absolute Rights informs patriotic Americans on their given rights, plus helps protect those rights from government intrusion. Most importantly, it prides itself on alerting people when their rights are being threatened, creating an active and informed community. For more information, be sure to visit AbsoluteRights.com.

If preparedness is a personal concern, as it should be for every American, “40 Days and 40 Nights” is the perfect survival guide. The article said the information inside the training course will get anyone up to speed with the proper skills needed to sustain an emergency recovery period of 40 days and beyond. Complete emergency response preparedness is a feasible goal with Absolute Rights’ “40 Days and 40 Nights.”
